About Finst

Finst B.V. was founded in Amsterdam in 2022 by former DEGIRO employees and positions itself as a particularly cheap and transparent crypto platform for the European market. Finst was initially registered as a crypto service provider with the Dutch central bank De Nederlandsche Bank and in 2025 received a MiCA licence from the supervisor Autoriteit Financiële Markten (AFM), on the basis of which German customers are also served; BaFin (the German financial regulator) is not responsible. Crypto balances are not covered by deposit protection (Einlagensicherung) – the coins are instead held via the legally separate foundation Stichting Finst Custody, so that they are not supposed to fall into the company's insolvency estate in an insolvency. According to the company, uninvested euro balances are held separately in accounts at regulated European banks. Finst is mainly of interest to cost-conscious investors who value a uniform, very low trading fee and German-language support.
