bevestor is the robo-advisor of DekaBank and therefore the digital asset management offer of the Sparkassen Finance Group. We rated bevestor under our robo-advisor methodology, which examines total costs, investment strategy, transparency and access rather than order fees. The earlier rating under the depot methodology was not appropriate, as financial portfolio management is carried out by Deka Vermögensmanagement GmbH and customers place no orders of their own.

Highlights of our bevestor review

  • bevestor scores 87/100 points in our rating.
  • The service fee is 0.60% p.a., plus fund costs of 0.14 to 0.24% p.a. (as of September 2026).
  • The portfolio diversifies across shares, bonds, commodities and liquid funds and thus across several asset classes.
  • Rebalancing takes place at least quarterly and additionally on significant deviations.

1 Costs

28/32
Points
bevestor charges a service fee of 0.60% p.a. and is thus among the cheaper providers in the German robo-advisor market. Transaction costs, front-end loads and additional depot fees do not apply, and bevestor charges no performance-based fee. Portfolio construction is done through actively managed funds of funds from Deka Investment GmbH, which in turn invest in ETFs. The provider puts the resulting fund costs at 0.14 to 0.24% p.a., so on average around 0.19% p.a. In total, total costs come to about 0.79% p.a. That is cheaper than Ginmon, OSKAR and Whitebox, but above quirion. It should be noted that the fund-of-funds structure makes it harder to determine total costs exactly than with providers that hold individual ETFs directly. Scoring (28/32): The service fee of 0.60% p.a. sits exactly on the threshold of the "≤ 0.60%" category and earns 12 out of 16 points. The average fund costs of around 0.19% p.a. are below 0.20% and give the full 10 points. Since neither transaction costs nor front-end loads or a performance fee apply, there are the full 6 points for other costs.

2 Investment strategy

25/25
Points
bevestor offers ten portfolios in two variants: Select as the classic line and Select Nachhaltigkeit (sustainability) as the ESG-compliant line, each with five risk levels. Equity shares range from 0 percent (Select 0, conservative) to 90 percent (Select 90, opportunity-oriented). The portfolio consists of shares, bonds, commodities and liquid funds and thus covers several asset classes – the exception in the rating field. Before investing, customers go through risk profiling that determines the appropriate level. The rebalancing rules are publicly described: the comparison takes place at least quarterly, but reallocations are only actually carried out on significant deviations, to avoid unnecessary transactions. Scoring (25/25): Worldwide diversification across shares, bonds, commodities and liquid funds meets the highest level and earns the full 10 points. Risk profiling with five risk levels per line gives the full 8 points. Automatic rebalancing at least quarterly with a documented approach brings the full 7 points.

3 Transparency & track record

11/18
Points
bevestor regularly publishes reviews of the capital markets including performance, currently for example for the second quarter of 2026 and retroactively for earlier quarters. The track record goes back to 2017 and thus includes the Covid crash in March 2020, the recovery in 2020/2021 and the interest rate rise cycle of 2022/2023. We could not verify a continuous, standardised after-cost presentation per risk level in one central place, however – the data is spread across quarterly blog posts. We therefore do not award the full score. On portfolio disclosure, the fund-of-funds structure is a disadvantage: the Deka funds of funds and the breakdown by asset class are visible, but not the individual underlying ETFs with ISINs. The cost side, by contrast, is clearly structured and shows the service fee and fund costs together. Scoring (11/18): Since performance is published, but not as a continuous after-cost track record per risk level in one place, we award 4 out of 8 points. For disclosure at the level of funds of funds and asset classes without individual ISINs there are 3 out of 6 points. The joint presentation of service fee and fund costs brings the full 4 points.

4 Access & flexibility

13/15
Points
The minimum investment is €500 one-off. Alternatively, a flexible savings plan with automatic monthly payments can be set up from €25. That makes bevestor easily accessible to beginners too. There is no minimum term or notice period, partial withdrawals are possible at any time, and deposits, withdrawals and savings plan adjustments can be made directly in the app. We could not verify a freely selectable execution rhythm for the savings plan. Scoring (13/15): The minimum investment of €500 is in the best level and brings the full 6 points. The savings plan from €25 meets the minimum instalment, but a freely selectable rhythm is not documented – for that there are 3 out of 5 points. Cancellation that is free at any time, with partial withdrawals, gives the full 4 points.

5 Security & service

10/10
Points
bevestor is a wholly owned subsidiary of DekaBank, the securities house of the Sparkassen Finance Group, based in Frankfurt. Financial portfolio management is carried out by Deka Vermögensmanagement GmbH, which has the relevant BaFin permit; custody is as segregated assets under section 84 of the German Investment Code (KAGB) at DekaBank. Balances in the settlement account are protected by the statutory deposit protection up to €100,000, and in addition the institution protection of the Sparkassen Finance Group applies, without being limited to €100,000. The bevestor app offers login by Touch ID or Face ID, a clear presentation of the investment and its development, and control of deposits, withdrawals and savings plans; a web portal exists in parallel. Customer service can be reached by phone in German and achieved 76.5 points in an independent service comparison. Scoring (10/10): A German custodian bank (DekaBank) and the BaFin permit of Deka Vermögensmanagement GmbH give the full 5 points. An app for iOS and Android plus web portal bring the full 3 points. Phone advice in German gives the full 2 points.

Conclusion: bevestor review

87/100
Very good (1.6)

bevestor scores 87 out of 100 points and is, after quirion, the second-strongest provider in our rating – mainly thanks to the broadest investment universe, clearly documented rebalancing rules and the additional institution protection. Deductions come almost exclusively on transparency, because the fund-of-funds construction obscures the view of the ETFs actually held. For Sparkassen customers and anyone who values broad diversification and strong deposit protection, bevestor is one of the best options.
