About KRAFTFAHRER-SCHUTZ e.V.

KRAFTFAHRER-SCHUTZ e.V. Automobilclub, based in Munich, was founded in Berlin in 1935 under the name Fakulta e.V. as a social support organisation for professional drivers and has carried its present name since 1961. With several hundred thousand members, it is one of the larger German motoring clubs. The association itself is not an insurance company and is therefore not subject to BaFin insurance supervision (BaFin is the German financial regulator); the risk carrier for the legal expenses products is AUXILIA Rechtsschutz-Versicherungs-AG, founded in 1964, and in motor insurance KS Versicherungs-AG, founded in 1979, comes in as well. Both companies are German insurers under BaFin supervision. In the market the group operates jointly as KS/AUXILIA and mainly offers private, traffic and occupational legal expenses cover as well as club services such as breakdown assistance.
