The smallest IONOS VPS (S+) offers 1 vCore, 2 GB RAM and 60 GB NVMe for €2 a month for the first 3 months, then €5 a month; the VPS M+ (2 vCores, 4 GB RAM, 120 GB NVMe) costs €4 and then €12 a month respectively. Scalable up to the VPS XXL+ with 12 vCores and 24 GB RAM. Performance is solid but not at Hetzner's level for compute-intensive workloads.

IONOS VPS is a good entry into the world of VPS: plenty of performance, German support, a managed option and unlimited traffic. Anyone who looks only at the promotional price, however, underestimates the total costs – from the fourth month the S+ costs €5 and the M+ €12.
