Inxmail is the enterprise solution for companies that need professional email marketing with maximum control, German data protection and personal support. Founded in Freiburg in 1999, the company counts DAX corporations, universities and wholesalers among its customers. Inxmail is not a self-service tool for SMEs but a platform tailored to larger customers. In our rating we look at Inxmail in the context of its target group.

Highlights of our Inxmail review

  • Inxmail scores 77/100 points in our rating – an enterprise specialist.
  • Hosting in Germany, ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified (TÜV Rheinland).
  • API-first architecture for in-depth IT integration.
  • A personal Customer Success Manager from the start of the contract.

1 Features & automation

23/32
Points
Inxmail's editor is functional but not at the modern design level of Mailchimp or Brevo. The strength lies in programmatic content creation: via the API, product feeds, CRM data and dynamic content can be injected into emails in real time – ideal for e-commerce with thousands of products. Automation includes trigger-based workflows, lifecycle campaigns and multi-step nurturing sequences. The visual workflow interface is functional, if less elegant than ActiveCampaign's. Segmentation is done via complex filters and SQL-like queries – powerful, but not for marketers without a technical background. A/B testing and multivariate testing are available, including automatic winner selection. The reporting functions include detailed delivery statistics, engagement reports and integration into business intelligence tools via the API. The drag-and-drop editor now includes an AI assistant, and workflows can be created in a visual AI workflow editor. Scoring (23/32): Strong API-driven content personalisation and solid automation. Deductions for the not very modern editor and the technical hurdle in segmentation.

2 Deliverability & email infrastructure

18/18
Points
Inxmail runs its own CSA-certified sending infrastructure with hosting in Germany and states an average delivery rate of 98% (provider's figure; kosten.org does not carry out its own measurements). SPF, DKIM, DMARC and BIMI are standard. Dedicated IP addresses and SLA models can be booked as options. Delivery consulting by Inxmail's experts is a strength. Transactional emails are integrated, and there is also an SMTP mail relay for your own systems. Automatic bounce handling, feedback loop integration (for ISP complaints) and proactive monitoring of delivery performance ensure high inbox placement in the long term. Scoring (18/18): Full marks for the strongest delivery infrastructure in the comparison: CSA certification, optional dedicated IPs and personal delivery support.

3 GDPR & data protection

16/16
Points
Inxmail shares the top GDPR position with CleverReach and rapidmail: servers in Germany, a pre-filled data processing agreement, automatic double opt-in and full legal notice (Impressum) integration. The personal data protection adviser supports sector-specific compliance requirements. The consent management solution records every consent in compliance with the RFCs and the GDPR. Deletion periods and data subject access rights (Art. 15-17 GDPR) can be implemented via the interface and API. For sectors with heightened requirements (banks, insurers, healthcare), Inxmail offers individual compliance packages. Inxmail is certified by TÜV Rheinland to ISO/IEC 27001:2022. Scoring (16/16): Full marks – ISO 27001 certification, hosting in Germany and sector-specific compliance support.

4 Integrations & ease of use

12/20
Points
Inxmail's API-first architecture is a strength and a weakness at the same time: the REST API enables in-depth integration with SAP, Salesforce, custom CRM systems and complex e-commerce platforms. Webhooks, real-time synchronisation and programmatic campaign control make Inxmail the integration champion for IT teams. The user interface is functional but complex in the typical enterprise way: marketers without a technical background need training and familiarisation. Inxmail offers personal onboarding sessions and a dedicated Customer Success Manager – resources that smaller providers cannot offer. Reporting is extensive: cross-dashboard analytics, BI tool integration (Tableau, Power BI), export APIs and automated reports. For data-driven enterprise teams that is ideal, for small teams overkill. Scoring (12/20): An excellent API and enterprise integrations. Clear deductions for the complex interface, the high learning curve and the dependence on technical support.

5 Price & plans

8/14
Points
Inxmail bills exclusively by sending volume, with unlimited contacts (as of October 2026, according to inxmail.de): the email marketing platform starts at €200 a month, the SMTP mail relay for emails from your own systems at €70 a month. You choose between monthly packages and annual allowances; the pricing page does not explicitly state whether prices are net. The platform package includes, among other things, a drag-and-drop editor with AI features, marketing automation, A/B tests, Basic API and 2 hours of user support per month. Additional support, SLAs, dedicated IPs and staging accounts are optional. There is no free plan; interested parties arrange entry via a demo or a quote. Scoring (8/14): Clear entry prices and unlimited contacts. Clear deductions for the high minimum price, no free tier and chargeable additional services.

Conclusion: Inxmail review

77/100
Good (2.1)

With 77 out of 100 points, Inxmail is the enterprise specialist: a CSA-certified sending infrastructure, ISO 27001 certification and hosting in Germany make Inxmail the choice for larger companies. With entry from €200 a month, Inxmail is usually too expensive for small businesses – here we recommend CleverReach or Brevo.
