About IG Europe
IG Europe GmbH was founded in 2019 in the wake of Brexit as the continental European company of the British IG Group and is based in Frankfurt am Main (Frankfurt local court, HRB 115624). Contrary to what the group name suggests, it is therefore under German supervision: IG Europe GmbH is licensed and supervised by BaFin (the German financial regulator) and the Deutsche Bundesbank. It mainly offers CFDs, forex, knock-outs and turbo certificates as well as barrier options via its own trading platform and MetaTrader. There is no deposit protection (Einlagensicherung) in the strict sense, because IG Europe is a securities institution and not a bank: client money is held in segregated trust accounts at regulated banks or in qualifying money market funds and is never mixed with company assets, while securities are held segregated at a custodian bank. In an insolvency, the Entschädigungseinrichtung der Wertpapierhandelsunternehmen (EdW, the investor compensation scheme for securities firms) applies, covering 90 percent of the claim, up to €20,000.
Special features

- IG Group is listed on the London Stock Exchange
