About Fidelity

Fidelity International has been active in Germany since 1992 and has had its German base in Kronberg im Taunus since 2003. The depot business for private investors runs through FIL Fondsbank GmbH (FFB), which was founded in 2002 as Frankfurter Fondsbank and has belonged to the Fidelity group since October 2009. FFB holds a German full banking licence, is under BaFin supervision (BaFin is the German financial regulator) and is a member of the Entschädigungseinrichtung deutscher Banken (the German statutory deposit guarantee scheme) and the voluntary deposit protection fund of the Bundesverband deutscher Banken – balances in the settlement account are therefore protected by law up to €100,000 per customer and voluntarily beyond that. Fund units in the depot are segregated assets, remain the customers' property at all times and do not form part of the insolvency estate if either the asset management company or the custodian bank becomes insolvent. It offers a very broad universe of funds and ETFs, savings plans and withdrawal plans.

Special features

  • FIL Fondsbank GmbH has belonged to the Fidelity group since 2009
  • Based in Kronberg im Taunus, previously Frankfurt am Main
  • One of the largest independent fund platforms in Germany
  • Fund units in the depot are segregated assets
