AGORA direct review 2026
How good is AGORA direct really?
AGORA direct has been active in Germany since 2001 and works as an introducing broker for Interactive Brokers; trades are processed through Interactive Brokers' systems, while support is in German. We rated the provider under our depot methodology rather than our CFD methodology: the main business is trading genuine securities – shares, ETFs, funds, bonds, options and futures on more than 175 exchanges in over 40 countries – while CFDs are only a marginal part of the offer. We assessed depot management, trading costs, savings plan offer, product range, interest and extras, usability, and customer service and security.

Pros & cons at a glance
Pros
- No depot fee for an active account or from a €1,000 cash balance, no minimum deposit on opening
- Very broad product range via Interactive Brokers with access to more than 175 exchanges in over 40 countries
- Savings plans on over 14,500 products from €10, with very flexible intervals from daily to yearly
- Xetra trading possible, US exchanges from €2.50 per order
- German-language phone support on trading days as an advantage over direct access to Interactive Brokers
Cons
- No free ETF savings plans; every savings plan execution costs the regular order fee from €3.85
- Comparatively expensive for small order volumes: €5.50 minimum fee on Xetra
- Real-time prices for the important exchanges are paid, US real-time costs US$10 a month
- No verifiable credit interest on the settlement account and no new-customer bonus
- Inactivity fee of €1 a month with a cash balance below €1,000 and no trading activity
Conclusion: AGORA direct review
AGORA direct scores 53 out of 100 points. The product range is outstanding and German-language access to Interactive Brokers is a real argument, but the depot methodology mainly measures what matters to the typical ETF savings plan investor – and the broker loses clearly there, because every savings plan instalment incurs order fees and real-time prices are charged extra. The provider suits active investors with an international focus, not beginners who want to run an ETF savings plan cheaply.
