We compare the stated trading fee in the entry tier – i.e. for customers without high trading volume. For exchanges with an order book this is the taker fee, for brokers the flat fee per purchase. BISON charges no order fee; here the published average spread is used.

Important for interpretation: for Kraken, Coinbase, Crypto.com, OKX, Bitpanda and Bitvavo the order-book fee (pro/advanced view) is used. With the simple instant buy in the app, customers pay considerably more there – e.g. 1% plus spread at Kraken, 0.99% plus mark-up at Bitpanda or 0.8% at Crypto.com. eToro, Finst, BISON and Coinmerce have a single price for all purchases. At OKX the 0.20% applies to a spot-only account; with an additional derivatives account it is 0.10%.

Several providers charge different fees for savings plans and the simple in-app instant buy than in the pro view – the provider's fee schedule is authoritative.

What to watch for when comparing

• Spread: the simple instant buy in the app often includes a mark-up in the price on top of the stated fee. Many providers do not quantify it.
• Pro view: exchanges with an order book are usually much cheaper in the pro/advanced view than via instant buy.
• Network fee: transferring coins to your own wallet costs an additional network fee.

Methodology

Based on the providers' fee schedules, November 2026 (sources below). We use the fee for a €1,000 Bitcoin purchase in the entry tier without discounts or loyalty schemes. Spreads (except at BISON, where the spread is the only cost), network fees and deposit/withdrawal costs are not included. Platforms that do not clearly publish their fee are listed without a value.
