About wiLLBe
wiLLBe is the digital investment and savings platform of Liechtensteinische Landesbank AG (LLB), launched in 2022 and based in Vaduz, a bank founded in 1861 and majority-owned by the Principality of Liechtenstein. Through the app, call money (Tagesgeld, instant-access savings) and fixed-term deposit (Festgeld) accounts can be held in several currencies; alongside this there is digital wealth management with a sustainability focus, ETF portfolios and the purchase of physical gold. The legal entity is LLB, which is why the Liechtenstein Financial Market Authority (FMA) is responsible rather than BaFin (the German financial regulator). Deposits are protected by Liechtenstein's deposit guarantee scheme (Einlagensicherungs- und Anlegerentschädigungs-Stiftung, EAS), with a countervalue of 100,000 Swiss francs per customer and bank; the protection limit is thus defined in francs and not in euros. The offer is interesting for investors who want to bundle an interest account and wealth management in one app and can deal with protection outside the EU.
Special features
- Digital brand of Liechtensteinische Landesbank, founded in 1861
- Supervision by the Liechtenstein FMA instead of BaFin
- Deposit protection via the Liechtenstein EAS up to CHF 100,000
- Originally launched as an app for sustainable investing along the UN Sustainable Development Goals
