About ICM InvestmentBank
ICM InvestmentBank AG came about in 1999 through a management buy-out from the HypoVereinsbank group and is based on Meinekestraße in Berlin, with further locations in Germany. It is licensed by BaFin (the German financial regulator) as a securities institution and, alongside traditional individual asset management, runs ICMsuite, a digital ETF depot built together with investify TECH. It has no deposit protection of its own because ICM is not a deposit-taking credit institution: it belongs to the Entschädigungseinrichtung der Wertpapierhandelsunternehmen (EdW, the German investor compensation scheme for securities firms), which in a compensation case covers 90 percent of the claim up to a maximum of €20,000. Customers' securities are held as segregated assets (customer property) at a custodian bank, with Baader Bank acting as the custodian here; balances in the settlement accounts sit with deposit-taking credit institutions and are covered there by statutory deposit protection.
