About Gothaer

Gothaer Versicherungsbank VVaG was founded in 1820 by Ernst Wilhelm Arnoldi in Gotha as the first German mutual insurance association (Versicherungsverein auf Gegenseitigkeit, VVaG); the company has been based in Cologne since 1946. Its retail business covers home contents, personal liability, buildings insurance, pet owner's liability for dogs and horses, dog and cat health insurance, as well as life and supplementary health insurance. The group's German risk carriers are subject to insurance supervision by BaFin (the German financial regulator).
