About Baufi24
Baufi24 was founded in 2006 and is now run as Baufi24 Baufinanzierung GmbH, based in Hamburg (Hamburg commercial register, HRB 107244). The company arranges private mortgages, follow-on financing and modernisation loans and, by its own account, compares offers from over 500 banks, Sparkassen and insurers. Legally, Baufi24 is a loan broker under section 34c of the Trade Regulation Act (GewO) and a property loan broker (Immobiliardarlehensvermittler) under section 34i GewO, registered in the broker register; the supervisory authority is the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce or the competent trade authority, not BaFin (the German financial regulator). There is no deposit protection (Einlagensicherung) because Baufi24 is not a bank and holds no customer funds – the loan contract always runs through the lending institution. Since 2022 Baufi24 has belonged to the Bilthouse group, which also brings together Hüttig & Rompf and Creditweb and in which the investment company Nordic Capital is the majority owner. The offer is aimed at buyers and self-builders who want to combine a broad online comparison with personal advice afterwards.
Special features
- Part of the Bilthouse group since 2022, with Nordic Capital as majority owner
- Sister brands within the group are Hüttig & Rompf and Creditweb
- Dual trade permit under sections 34c and 34i GewO
- Combination of its own locations and affiliated partner offices
