About ARAG
ARAG SE, based in Düsseldorf, was founded in 1935 by the publisher and lawyer Heinrich Faßbender and is still owned by the founding family today. That makes it the largest family-owned company in German insurance and, internationally, the leading specialist insurer for legal expenses cover. Besides its core legal expenses business, the group also offers personal liability, home contents, pet owner's liability and supplementary dental insurance through ARAG Allgemeine Versicherungs-AG and ARAG Krankenversicherungs-AG. All of the group's German risk carriers are subject to insurance supervision by BaFin (the German financial regulator). ARAG is mainly of interest to customers who want to bundle legal expenses and other personal lines with the same provider.
