About Agila
AGILA Haustierversicherung AG, based in Hanover, was founded in 1994 in the Wertgarantie environment and is one of the oldest and largest specialist insurers for dogs and cats in Germany. Unlike many competitors in the pet segment, AGILA is an insurance stock corporation in its own right and therefore a risk carrier itself, under insurance supervision by BaFin (the German financial regulator). Around the turn of the millennium the regulator approved an extension of its business, and since then there has also been dog owner's liability cover. The offer comprises pet health insurance as full cover, pure surgery cost insurance, and liability plans for dog owners. Since 2022 the company has belonged to the British Pinnacle Pet Group.
Special features

- Part of the British Pinnacle Pet Group since 2022
- Extended to dog owner's liability after BaFin approval around the year 2000
- According to the company, more than half a million contracts taken out
