HelloFresh costs 2026
5.10 to 8.75 € per portion, plus 5.99 € delivery per box – and a new-customer discount whose distribution HelloFresh does not disclose. All information from hellofresh.de, as of 30 October 2026.
What HelloFresh costs at the regular price
HelloFresh offers boxes for 2, 3 or 4 people with 2 to 5 recipes per week each. The price per portion falls with the box size. On its publicly accessible pages HelloFresh shows the two extremes:

The discounted new-customer prices
What HelloFresh advertises on its home page are not the regular prices but the discounted prices of the first boxes. These values can be viewed publicly – and are considerably lower:

The discount nobody can check
HelloFresh is currently advertising “up to 120 € off” plus free goodies for two months for new customers. What is missing on the voucher page: how many boxes the discount covers and how much of it applies to each individual box. Without this information the actual total benefit cannot be calculated – let alone from which week you pay the full price.
On top of that, the advertised amount rotates. In parallel to the 120 €, 100 € has also been in circulation. The figure on the landing page therefore says little about what you end up saving.
Practical consequence: calculate with the regular price. A box for 2 people and 3 recipes costs 21.00 € plus delivery during the discount phase – the regular price is considerably higher. If you keep the subscription after the discount, plan for the jump in advance.
Cancelling and pausing
HelloFresh is a subscription contract for an indefinite period. According to the terms and conditions there is no minimum term, and you can cancel weekly. The deadline depends on the delivery day:
- Delivery on Friday → cancellation by Monday 23:59
- Delivery on Saturday → by Tuesday 23:59
- Delivery on Monday of the following week → by Wednesday 23:59 of the previous week
One restriction appears verbatim in the terms and conditions: “Cancellation before receipt of the first delivery of a meal kit is not possible.” So you pay for at least one box in any case. If you only want to skip one week, pause the box in your customer account instead – this is possible week by week.
What is included in the price
Around 60 dishes are available to choose from each week, divided into the categories meat & vegetables, veggie, veggie & fish, balance, save time and family-friendly. Up to ten preferences can be saved, and the menu selection can be changed up to five days before delivery.
Not included in the standard price are premium dishes with a surcharge, desserts, extra portions and items from the HelloFresh Market. HelloFresh only shows how high these surcharges are in the logged-in area – no public page states any amounts for them. So build in a buffer if you regularly choose gourmet dishes.
Is HelloFresh cheaper than the supermarket?
HelloFresh answers this question itself – with a comparison that does not hold up methodologically. For one dish, a supermarket basket of over 22.17 € is set against 4.75 € per portion. The catch: 4.75 € is a discounted price, not the regular 8.75 to 5.10 €. Full pack sizes – a whole jar of honey for 2.99 €, a whole bulb of garlic – are set against measured portions. And the 5.99 € delivery charge does not appear in the calculation.
No reliable independent figures exist. Realistically, with HelloFresh you pay for planning, measuring out and delivery – not for cheaper groceries. The advantage lies in the time saved and in less food being thrown away, not in the price.
